LANDS™

Strategic Communication for Leaders Who Drive Change.

Most leaders don’t fail at strategy. They fail at communication.

The plan is clear in their head — but it doesn’t land with the people who need to execute it. Messages get diluted through layers. Change stalls because no one addressed resistance before it took root. Leaders communicate at their teams instead of through them.

LANDS™ changes that. Because if your message doesn't land, nothing moves. LANDS™ is a proprietary five-phase strategic communication framework built for leaders navigating complexity, change, and high-stakes decisions. It gives leaders a repeatable system for making communication stick — from stakeholder analysis through long-term adoption.

The Framework

Five phases. 25+ practical tools. One repeatable system.

L  Listen — Before you open your mouth.

Stakeholder analysis and audience mapping. Understand who needs what, what they already believe, and what’s going to get in the way.

A  Align — Design the message that moves people.

Message architecture using DKBF (Do, Know, Believe, Feel) and explicit connection to strategic goals. Say what matters — not everything.

N  Navigate — Plan the cascade.

Communication cascade planning, messenger briefs, difficult conversation prep, and style calibration. Get the right message to the right people through the right channels.

D  Deliver — Execute with precision.

Structured delivery including SBIA feedback, coaching conversations, crisis communication, and escalation protocols. Handle the moments that matter.

S  Sustain — Make it stick.

Follow-up verification and change reinforcement at 10-day, 30-day, and quarterly milestones. Communication isn’t a moment — it’s a system.

Where It Came From

MaryBeth built LANDS™ from nearly 30 years leading change inside complex organizations — as Head of Communications at Walt Disney World and Head of HR and Change Management at Allegis Group. The framework is the distilled operating system of someone who’s had to move thousands of people through high-stakes change, political complexity, and organizational ambiguity.

It’s what actually works when the stakes are real and the room isn’t easy.

How It's Delivered

LANDS™ is designed to flex.

Who It's For

  • Senior leaders driving strategic change who need their message to land — not just launch.

  • Mid-level leaders managing up, down, and across who are stuck translating between strategy and execution.

  • Leadership cohorts in development programs who need a shared communication language.

  • Organizations in transition — restructuring, culture shifts, new strategy — where communication is the difference between momentum and stall.

What Makes It Different

This isn’t a communication tips workshop. It’s a system.

Most communication training teaches people to be clearer speakers. LANDS™ teaches leaders to be strategic communicators — to think about audience, resistance, timing, cascade, and sustainability before they ever open their mouth.
